Amazon Offers an Exclusive Brand of Medical Devices Initially Aimed at Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease

Arcadia Group announced today the launch of an Amazon exclusive brand of consumer-use medical devices for diabetes and hypertension management.  The new Choice brand will start with a range of blood glucose monitors and blood pressure monitors both with supporting mobile apps which offer measurement tracking, data mobility and reminders.

It is estimated that diabetes and hypertension affect up to 130 million Americans.  People afflicted with either of these chronic diseases can benefit from daily monitoring and progress tracking over time. Choice’s new offerings are designed to make health management more accessible, affordable and actionable.

The Choice brand will offer both conventional models and devices enabled with Bluetooth connectivity features.  The brand is positioned to offer exceptional value versus what is available at traditional retail pharmacy outlets.

Arcadia has extensive experience in brand development within the diabetes and cardiovascular markets.  They are widely known as the original architects of Walmart’s ReliOn brand as well as Abbott’s Freestyle line of diabetes devices.

Bob Guest, CEO of Arcadia Group, commented, “The Choice brand is all about accessible wellness.  Consumers no longer need to drive to a store to stand in-line and purchase their medical devices and supplies. Now, in the privacy of their home, consumers can review, compare and purchase the products of their choice. No insurance is required. Therefore, customers have the freedom of choice.  They will no longer be told by their insurance company what brand they can by. Choice is freedom.”

Looking forward, Guest added, “Our products are best in class and very affordable. Over time we intend to incorporate voice driven measurement interpretation as well as individualize wellness recommendations. This is all possible with Alexa, and will provide patients with a wellness experience not available until now.”
